Loving Caye Caulker

We are just loving our time in Caye Caulker.  The breeze off the Caribbean Sea is constant as they rustle the palm trees and soothing rhythms of reggae music drift up from the street.   The place suites our style with the easy pace of life around us.  Bicycles and golf carts cruise by at top speed of about 10 km/hr.  Visitors and residence alike stroll the main street in a leisure way as street vendors chat with the passers by with encouraging and familier banter.  Everyone is enterprising and you know they are working there section of the street but it's all done in a fun relaxed way.   Warm smiles and colourful Creole expressions really foster a "no worries" vibe.  The food is great... barracuda steak, shrimp kabobs, conch and snapper washed down with a cold Belikin beer or Rum Punch ...mmm and it all smells good as you walk past the restaurants too! The little local bakery is great and everyone on the island cues up in the morning to load up on bread, buns and cinnamon roles.   The turquoise waters are so beautiful.. I can just look and look..just soaking up the blues, turquoise, greens and when the wind is stiff.. white caps amongst all the colours . There is just something so relaxing being by the water.
