We are in the land of dinosaurs but we are getting the subtle message in all the talks we get and the videos we watch that it's not just about Dinosaurs! Ancient turtles, alligators, marine reptiles and plants are all part of the paleontological world ( must be a pet peeve of Paleontologist to have the focus on the T-Rex) . We spent the day at the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Drumheller and we learned so much and was amazed by the curatorship- lots to visually impress and lots of ways to learn. Eric , Sean, and I were soaking it up and poor Liam was not impressed at all - "not enough action" he said. At one point he was holding his breath in mock protest! But the fossil casting program came just at the right time and both the boys had fun making their own fossil cast (Liam's was a mammal skull and Sean's got to make a T-Rex tooth- sorry but the t-Rex is still pretty cool!)
The town of Drumheller was full of the Dinosaur theme too which was a big hit for the boys and fun photo opportunities for me.
Now off to Calgary to visit my friend Cathy, a friend from my Edmonton - teen years, and who I haven't seen in about 15 years! (Eric is hoping to hear some stories about my past - makes me nervous! )
